I have tickets to see a men’s quarter final hockey game and some pairs figure skating. I hope to find many outdoor events to participate in as well. This should be an interesting couple of weeks!

  2. I’m stoked for women’s hockey at GM place!! We also have tickets to see the short track speed skating finals…AMAZING! GO CANADA GO!!

  3. I’m going to see women’s hockey. All the skill, half the fighting!

  4. The Bell house and Quebec Houses look very interesting from a designer/ architectural view. The Holland house at the Ozone looks to be very fun. I hope to visit those for sure. I also hope to hit up the Sochi House to see a preview of the next winter olympics!
As for events, hockey, speed skating and snowboarding are favorite olympic events for me. I hope to catch one of those events!

  5. Tracy Scott

Being an east-coaster all my life until I moved to BC 7 years ago, I am very excited to see Atlantic House. SO many performances, cooking exhibits and hospitality. It will really feel like a “piece of home” at the Olympics. That being said, my whole family can’t wait to try out the “electricity producing sustainable dance floor” and “graffiti expression wall”. I think a little competition will set in for sure!

  6. Karla Johnson

Cool…can’t wait to check it out!

  7. Looking forward to hanging out at the Atlantic Canada and House of Switzerland pavilions. And then, of course, there’s the Holland Heineken House in Richmond…

  8. Ming

I missed out on the tickets that I wanted to get. But I’ll be hanging around the Yaletown CityLive site and Robson square, checking out the free entertainment.

  9. Mark

Can’t wait to see the Snowboarding PGS at Cypress Mountain! Hoping to fit in a few trips to Irish House at Nelson&Seymour over the coming fortnight as well!

  10. Blair Smith

I wanna see that sustainable dancefloor! maybe we could redo Granville street again and harness some of that bridge and tunnel energy to light the neon. The faster they dance, the brighter it gets! Can I patent this idea?

  11. Amy Pon

With so much to see and do around the city, it will be hard to decide what to see first. Everything sounds so interesting. I am hoping to see as many outdoor events as I can and experience some of that Olympic spirit! Vancouver will be the best host city around.

  12. Vera Salomatina

  13. i have started to compile a list of things to do for the Olympics starting from all the International Cultural Houses (Especially Russia house, Holland House, Korea House and House of Switzerland), all of the Provincial Cultural houses, to the Robson Street Zip Line, Richmond O-Zone. 21. Kathrin

Really wanted to get into the Richmond Oval for the speed skating, but will have to gawp at the wonder of the structure, held up by pine-beetle-outmanoeuvered smart-timber thinking.

I am most interested in going downtown and just seeing hoe different everything is going to be. I think it will be truly marvellous!

  37. Min

    Figure Skating!! No doubt.

Have been skating in Trout Lake and Killarney rinks since 1994, I am probably one of the *very few* males who wears figure skates. (OK … please don’t laugh …)

It is the combination of art and power. Could not wait to see it … in the beloved PNE.

  38. What an awesome morning in Sechelt. The torch run is a fabulous event, with so many parts that spotlight not only the games and the athletes, but also history and local community. So proud of Sara Doherty for getting to bring the torch into Sechelt!! We’d love to go to figure skating and bring all our signs, shirts (5 different hats in our 4-person family), and cheering voices.

  39. kath heyworth

Having been born and raised in Vancouver, I am very excited about the Olympics. I vaguely recall Expo 1986. To my utter dismay, I couldn’t get any Olympic tickets during Phases 1-3 of the VANOC ticket purchase sessions. So, I’m settling for watching the Games on tv, attending LiveCity Robson and Yaletown, visiting the different countries’ Houses and going to a Victory Ceremony.

  54. Ali

2 more words – Doubles Luge

  55. Cheryl

Watching the city transform these past few months has been really exciting! I’ve been watching figure skating at the Olympics as long as I can remember… and that’s a long time! One of my earliest Olympic memories was Karen Magnussen on the ice. I am taking my children to figure skating *practice* since that is really all we can afford: it is an opportunity to see Olympic calibre skaters, even if it is not in competition.

I am looking forward all of the pavilions, but particularly the French Quarter at Granville Island because I love to eat!

It would be wonderful to win tickets to see a real figure skating competition in person.

  77. Jane

The Russiadome at Scienceworld. I’m hoping it’s going to be just like a James Bond film set. But more contemporary and politically correct.

The streetcar and skytrain will be my friends when I go see Wilco in David Lam park and also check out all the great public art. I still haven’t seen Stalin with his Mao hat.

I look forward most to visiting Power Smart village! :-)

I have enjoyed riding my bike around the seawall and watching all the Olympic venues and decorations appear. Today, I noticed all the different nation flags on the windows in the Olympic village.

I don’t have tickets for any Olympic events and I’m working throughout the games (no time off allowed where I work).

I would really like to win these figure skating tickets for my senior citizen parents. My parents actually met ice skating in Vancouver! My Dad and his sister were pairs ice skaters. My Dad’s sister was an ice skating judge up until she passed away. My Dad’s best friend (I call him Uncle) was an ice skating clown. One of my sisters was also a member of Stars on Ice and travelled Europe when she was younger.

I didn’t inherit the ice skating gene. ;-)

Looking forward to seeing all the sites. The LiveCity Yaletown & Downtown look pretty happening spots. Holland House looks to be the best spot for a fun night. Don’t forget about Lynn Valley & West Van- they have lots of activities especially for kids. Oh, and the art gallery is free during the Olympics- check it out. Welcome world!

I have tickets to a men’s hockey qualifier. I hope I don’t see Team Canada there. They should go straight to the quarter finals. Go Canada Go!!

I’m looking forward to seeing all the pavillions, watching the free concerts and just enjoying the whole Olympic experience.

I work downtown and go by the BC Hydro building every day. I look forward to checking that out once the finished product is available for public viewing.

  155. Yumiko Osawa

    Hi:
I am totally excited to see Men’s long program on 18th.
It is the deepest field now, you will never know who will win!!
But I am looting for Daisuke Takahashi, he is the most talented artist on ice. I love him.

  156. Phil

Watching canada win gold medal for hockey at GM Place!!! Go Canada!

  157. Shawna

I am super excited for the Olympics to start! I went for a walk around the downtown core yesterday to take in the feeling and the spirit. Can’t wait for more people to arrive and thrive off the energy and excitement at all the venues! To me the Olympics is a celebration of the power of sport. I think it is beautiful and moving to share in the dreams, goals and personal victories of amateur athletes. We all have our own “Olympic” sized challenges and successes and I am proud to be able to cheer on others as they go for their “gold.” I didn’t get any Olympic event tickets (but would LOVE to go!), but am looking forward to supporting the Paralympics and attending the sledge hockey! Go athletes go!

  158. Sherry
