How long have you been a Vancouverite?
Andrea: Born and raised. I’m a lifer. Vancouver will always be home.
Robert: Since 2002 after spending some time in Ontario, 100 Mile House, and Victoria.

Occupation:
We are a husband and wife team that owns lotus events inc., an event management and wedding coordination company that produces events such as Got Craft? and Indie I Do. Andrea is also a part-time crafter and makes items by hand under the name Roxypop. Together, we also write a DIY Vancouver column for Granville Online.

Favourite place in the city: Main Street. Good eats. Good shops. Good times.

Best way to spend a Saturday in the city:
Stocking up the kitchen at the local farmers market, roaming local craft fairs, and exploring Vancouver thrift stores with a coffee in hand.

Favourite Vancouver event:
As a crafter, Andrea started making her own line of handmade goods back in 2006, but couldn’t find the right market to participate in. In 2007, Andrea and Robert started Got Craft?, which has a modern twist on the conventional craft fair. Held the first Sunday of May and December, Got Craft? features over 55 local handmade vendors and is without a doubt the largest indie craft fair in the city of Vancouver.

Top insider tip for visitors:
The small stretch of East 15th Avenue between Fraser Street and Kingsway has become quite a little cove of treasures lately. Check out Collage Collage, which is one part art studio, one part school, and one part bookshop, as well as Spool of Thread Sewing Lounge and Les Faux Bourgeois, a classic French bistro.
