17th Annual Taste BC 2011 This Tuesday, January 18

If all the talk about Dine Out Vancouver 2011 —Vancouver’s amazing restaurant festival that runs January 24 – February 6—has you drooling in anticipation, you can whet your appetite at the 17th Annual Taste BC food and beverage celebration this Tuesday, January 18.

Organized by Liberty Wine Merchants and held at downtown Vancouver’s Hyatt Regency Hotel, Taste BC gives guests the opportunity to sample an incredible range of B.C.’s best wine, beer and spirits while noshing on tasty fare from local Vancouver restaurants.

Over 70 wineries, breweries and distilleries will be pouring drinks at Taste BC; guests will be able to try everything from ice wine to cider. A few examples: There will be three different gins from Victory Spirits, wine from Black Hills Estate Winery and Quail’s Gate Winery (to name just two of many), six different fruit wines from Forbidden Fruit Winery, and beer from Howe Sound Brewing and Driftwood. Among the many food providers, there will be appetizers from Central Bistro and cheese from Poplar Grove. For a complete list of participants, check out Taste BC on Facebook and Twitter.

The best part of Taste BC is that it’s a fundraiser for an excellent cause: Children’s Hospital-Oak Tree Clinic, which specializes in providing care and services to those with HIV/AIDS. In its 17 years, Taste BC has raised a total of $170,216 for this important local charity.

Along with excellent food and drink, there will also be live music, door prizes, and a silent auction of luxury items, local experience packages, destination packages, and delicious products made in British Columbia.

Tickets to the 17th Annual Taste BC are $49.99 and can be purchased at any Liberty Wine Merchant location.

Taste BC happens this Tuesday, January 18, 2011, from 4:30pm – 7:30pm.
