Hometown: Both born in Poland, Chris in Hrubieszow and Alicia in Lodz
How long have you been Vancouverites? Since June 2003
Occupation:
We are both alumni of the University of Toronto—Alicia as a Chartered Accountant and Chris and an Electrical Engineer.
Throughout our globe-trotting careers, we  worked for large American corporations in California, launched joint ventures in Europe and our native country Poland, performed due diligence for venture capital companies, and launched mobile telephone networks. When we began a family, our passion for healthy living, organic foods and natural products, combined with our interest in sustainable business practices prompted us to begin researching alternatives to toxic cleaning practices. In 2003, we decided to share our vision of a non-toxic natural home by launching AspenClean from our new home base in West Vancouver, British Columbia.
Favourite place in the city:
Dundarave Beach in West Vancouver with its rustic feel, playground, breathtaking views, and the Beach House Restaurant. A walk/run along the seawall between Ambleside and Dundarave is the best anti-stress remedy.
Best way to spend a Saturday in the city:
Cycling with our children at UBC or by the beach.
Favourite Vancouver artist:
Our favourite artist (and neighbour) is Ross Penhall.
Top insider tip for visitors:
Go cycling at UBC Endowment Park and snack on Vancouver’s unique, organic, anti-oxidant berries like salmonberries and huckleberries.
