The Fair’s biggest event is the California Wine Fair Ballroom Tasting on Friday, March 11 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Participants get to sample wine from over 100 Napa, Sonoma, and Central Coast wineries and get a “first taste” of new vintage and varietals that have yet to be released to the Canadian Market. There’s also a silent auction that features items you’ll actually be excited to bid on: rare private cellar wines, dinner-theatre packages, travel getaways, and more.
Also on the California Wine Fair 2011 agenda: the California Winery Dinner on March 9 at Queen Elizabeth Park’s Seasons in the Park restaurant (one of the Top 5 Vancouver Restaurants with a View), featuring wine pairings from the Terlato Wine group, and Wine 101 on March 16, an interactive tasting hosted by local sommelier Neil Ingram from Boneta. Wine 101 sold out two years in a row, so act fast if you want tickets.
If you’ve attended any of the Arts Club Theatre Company’s California Wine Fair events before, I’d love to hear from you; please share in the comments!
