Playland in Pictures: A Vancouver summer tradition

Ah . . . summer at Playland.  Vancouver’s amusement park may not be the biggest one out there or have the latest rides, but there’s just something about spending a summer day at the fair.

There are the games along the midway, which you know better than to play but still can’t resist (Does anyone ever actually win at Ring Toss?).  There are the creaky, quirky, old rides – Crazy Beach Party, Music Express,  Hell’s Gate – which look so fun until the minute you’re strapped in.  Not to mention the deliciously greasy food (Do Legendary burgers ever taste as good as they do at the fair?).  And of course, the Wooden Roller Coaster – not the highest or fastest but easily the scariest coaster around.

Here’s a quick photo journey through the park with some pictures I took over the weekend.  If this stirs any fond memories, please leave a comment below about your own experiences at Playland.
