Despite Vancouverites continued bitterness over that whole yoga-pants-made-us-third-worst-dressed-city thing (which people were still talking about last week at a party I attended), we still love our actual yoga, which is why Vancouver will once again host the annual Yoga Conference & Show at the Vancouver Convention Centre this weekend.
A huge success last year, the 2011 Vancouver Yoga Conference includes 120 exhibitors and—included in the $15 admission ticket (which is good for all three days of the conference)—24 hours of Garden Yoga classes (39 classes).
Yoga Vancouver also features workshops from industry leaders on everything from meditation to changing your chakra, and classes for beginners, intermediate- and advanced-level students. Classes are an additional charge, ranging from $39.98 to $70.
Although mats and other necessities can be purchased at the conference, organizers encourage you to bring your own. (Bring your own snack, too, or plan on lunch at the nearby Steamworks Brewing Company—their portobello burger is a great vegetarian option—because there’s no food available at this year’s conference.)
