Experience the Magic of Fort Langley’s Heritage Christmas Events

Between December 17 and 31, make memories in the traditional holiday atmosphere at the fort! Bring family or out-of-town guests to a guided tour daily at 11 am or the “Fur Trade Wedding” at 1 pm. At 2 pm, decorate a cookie and warm up with hot chocolate. At 3 pm, hear stories of Fort Langley’s past in the Big House.

Traditionally, Christmas festivities at Fort Langley during the 1840s were simple. Workers received the day off for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and a ration of rum. On Christmas Day, the Chief Trader of the fort hosted a social event, dance, and feast.

Parks Canada is pleased to preserve and present this part of Canada’s history at Fort Langley National Historic Site on behalf of Canadians and visitors from around the world. In 2011, Parks Canada will be proudly celebrating its 100th anniversary as the first national park service in the world.
