Boats are big in Vancouver, which is no surprise in a city surrounded by water. And even if you aren’t personally a boat owner (Don’t we all wish we were?), you can still enjoy loads of boat-related fun—including free boat rides—at the Vancouver International Boat Show, February 8 – 12, 2012.
This year is the 50th anniversary for the Vancouver International Boat Show and the exhibitions, programs and guests for the 2012 Show cover two venues: BC Place in downtown Vancouver and Granville Island. The In-Water venue at Granville Island’s Marina includes boat displays and free 30-minute sail boat rides courtesy of Discover Boating.
Most of the Boat Show action will be at BC Place, where, along with a huge array of boat-related exhibitions, you can see daily performances by “Duma, the Famous Waterskiing and Boat-Driving Dog,” meet crew member Russell Newberry from the Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch, attend expert seminars for both experienced and novice boat owners, and learn about the latest marine products and accessories at the Manufacturers Showcase. There’s also a Kids Zone and Sailfest, too.
Tickets for the Vancouver International Boat Show 2012 are $15 per person and free for kids 16 and under. Save $3 on admission when you buy tickets online.
