How long have you been a Vancouverite? 33 years, save one year spent in Australia for university.
I wear many hats! My day job is the Executive Director of the CKNW Orphans’ Fund, a children’s charity dedicated to enhancing the lives of children with special needs and by night I run NetworkinginVan.com, a hub site for all the different networking and professional development opportunities in Vancouver. Follow me @jenu2 or @networkinginvan
Best way to spend $100 in Vancouver:
Donate it to a great cause! Or if you already do that – I would have a great brunch/lunch at one of Glowbal Group’s fabulous restaurants and then take the family to the Vancouver Aquarium. As a parent of a toddler, this is a “must have” for families living in Vancouver (especially with all our rainy days).
Five essential items for a Vancouverite:
iPod/iPhone. Vancouverites walk/run a lot and it’s essential to take good tunes with you along the way.
Re-usable grocery bags. I’ve gotten the hairy eye-ball one too many times when I’ve forgotten mine!
Rain/walking gear, boots, umbrella and Lululemon gear (you’ll blend in with the natives).
Business cards. Meet someone and want to connect after? This is the best way to follow up and stay in touch.
List of great Vancouver restaurants. There are so many great places to dine in our fair city. The Tourism Vancouver website has the best list!
