This Week’s Featured Vancouverite: Broek Bosma

Hometown: Prince George, BC

How long have you been a Vancouverite? I was a nineties Vancouverite for 4 years, but I have only lived here for 3 months this time around.

Occupation:
Associate Vice President of University Advancement and Alumni Affairs at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. I work with individuals, businesses, and foundations to support the university. I also connect and engage the many different alumni that Emily Carr has. The best part of Emily Carr is the amazing culture of creativity and entrepreneurship (and the fact that we use a ‘+’ sign in our name).

Best way to spend $100 in Vancouver:
Tuning up your bike (or renting one) so that you can enjoy this beautiful city on wheels.

Five essentials for a Vancouverite:
A love of water, an aquabus ticket in your wallet, a deep-seated need to support the Canucks, friends that own a ski cabin, more than $4.00 worth of change in your pocket, in case you need a coffee.

Top insider tip for visitors:
You can visit Granville Island and explore the galleries at Emily Carr University of Art + Design for free!
