Get a head start on holiday shopping. Find that slinky holiday cocktail dress. Or just enjoy a drink with friends at the Gastown Shop Hop, this evening, Nov. 15, from 5 to 9pm.

Gastown, Vancouver’s chicest ‘hood and historic heart, was recently ranked the fourth most stylish neighbourhood in the world after greats such as Paris’ 1st Arrondissement, Harajuku in Tokyo and NYC’s Soho. The fashionable neighbourhood’s annual fall shopping event is bigger than ever in 2012, with discounts at over 50 boutiques and restaurants.

How does the Gastown Shop Hop work? Browse and shop for discounted men’s and women’s fashion, home decor and accessories at Gastown’s local, independent businesses. The shops stay open late, serve drinks and have DJs and/or games. By shopping, you receive vouchers to use to dine/drink at participating Gastown bars and restaurants.

Find party highlights and a map with participating shops and restaurants after the jump.

Every Gastown boutique and restaurant has a different variation on the evening festivities. For example:

Community Thrift and Vintage (41 West Cordova; 311 Carrall) will host a carnival with games including balloon darts, along with drinks and deals.

Lynn Steven Boutique will serve bubbly and set up their famous candy bar, while offering 20% off merchandise.

Roden Gray is offering 20% off fall fashion. For those who can’t make the in-store event, the discount extends to web shopping.

Browse the entire list of participating Gastown businesses here. Use this map to find the fun.

I’m a daily reader of this blog. It would be great if you posted this last week instead of the day of. I totally would have gone to this had I known about it sooner.

I was about to say exactly the same thing. It’s not that useful finding about events on the day they happen. Most people will read about it too late or will already have had plans. I’d have gone too had I known more in advance.

  2. This is another blog with an incredible amount of information . I recently started to compile this kind of information to write a website about the subject and many of your suggestion will make their way to it. Thanks for the nice website!
