Off the Eaten Track in Railtown: Where are some of the city’s hottest and most progressive restaurants popping up? Secret Supper Soiree: This perennially sold-out Dine Out Event is equal parts mystery, glamour and gluttony. A bright pink double-decker bus whisks guests – many dressed in vintage 1930s dresses and suits – across the city to not one but two mystery dinner locations. The event includes five courses, three wine tastings and plenty of intrigue. Jan. 25, Jan. 26, Feb. 1, Feb. 2; 6 p.m. $99 (before Dec. 31); $129 (after Dec. 31).
Hawksworth @ Holt Renfrew: Get a sneak peek at spring 2013 fashions – and a meal from one of Vancouver’s most celebrated restaurants – inside Holt Renfrew at this unique event combining haute couture and haute cuisine. A cocktail and canape reception in the designer boutiques is followed by wine-paired dinner and dessert. Meanwhile, models show off the latest lines for men and women. Jan. 29; 7 p.m. Holt Renfrew at Pacific Centre. $199 ($249 for VIP package).
Tea Cocktails & Tapas: Tea-infused cocktails and cuisine are suddenly popping up in trendy restaurants in Vancouver and across North America. The event also includes a tasting flight of cocktails and tapas. Jan. 25; Urban Tea Merchant at 1070 W. Georgia St. $48.
