This weekend is full of theatre, cultural, and culinary events.  Here’s a roundup of events happening all over Metro Vancouver this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

 


Friday September 6th


Vancouver Chinatown Night Market

Live music, storytelling, and Mahjong, new vendors, and more food!  Best of all, it’s about spending those long, warm summer nights with your friends and family, shopping, eating, playing and getting nostalgic for the Chinatown of yore while creating new memories in a pretty special place.  Experience the last weekend of the season today through Sunday.

The Shipyards Night Market, 5:00PM-10:00PM @ Shipyards Plaza (138 Victory Way), North Vancouver
Free
Over 50 tents filled with local products showcasing British Columbia’s bakers, artisans, and farmers.  A great evening for all ages, with food, fun, and festivities all night long.  Takes place every Thursday and Friday this summer.

Vancouver Fringe Festival

Vancouver Fringe Festival, time varies @ Granville Island, Vancouver

A celebration of theatre for all ages, featuring more than 600 performances by 89 artists, from Sept 5-15.  The Vancouver Fringe also features unique site-specific theatre where artists stage their work in the nooks and crannies of Granville Island, as part of the Fringe Onsite Program.  A lot happens at Fringe, so check the website for the full line up!

MEXICOFest Independencia Gala Dinner

13th Annual Richmond Night Market, 7:00PM-12:00AM @ 8351 River Road (next to Bridgeport Canada Line Station), Richmond

The market features 250 vendors and 80 food booths, family friendly entertainment, a children’s amusement zone, and carnival-style rides.  This year’s theme is based around the Magical Duck Island adventure board game, with $100,000 in prizes.  Open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday until October 14.

    Theres a rhythm of life happening at burnaby lake sept 8th from 8-2pm. 10km run raising funds for new equipment for burnaby hospital. Come Support. With live entertainment and marketplace for a little bit of shopping.
