Friday September 20th

Beer and burlesque, two of Vancouver’s favourite pastimes, come together for one naughty night.  More than 15 local craft brewers and the burlesque community gather for an evening of craft beer and provocative dancing.  Multiple raffle prizes and prizes for best male and female costume.  Get your tickets early.

Over 50 tents filled with local products showcasing British Columbia’s bakers, artisans, and farmers.  A great evening for all ages, with food, fun, and festivities all night long.  Takes place every Thursday and Friday this summer.

The market features 250 vendors and 80 food booths, family friendly entertainment, a children’s amusement zone, and carnival-style rides.  This year’s theme is based around the Magical Duck Island adventure board game, with $100,000 in prizes.  Open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday until October 14.

The VSFF is dedicated to entertaining and educating audiences while promoting Singapore-made films, filmmakers and artists.  Singapore’s film industry, though comparably smaller and unknown, is a hidden gem of Asia that is continually producing world-class talent. BC Cancer Agency’s Nutrition Education Day, 9:30AM-3:00PM @ BC Cancer Agency Research Centre (675 West 10th Ave), Vancouver

The BC Cancer Agency is hosting a Nutrition Education Day for cancer patients and caregivers.  Jean LaMantia dietitian, cancer survivor, and author will give a keynote address on her book The Essential Cancer Treatment Nutrition Guide And Cookbook. Woman2Warrior | Things To Do In Vancouver This Weekend

A women’s only charity obstacle adventure race benefiting Easter Seals Camps in British Columbia, Woman2Warrior is a timed run covering about 5km of trails, track, and grass around Burnaby Central Park and Swangard Stadium. The course features 12 different obstacles to test strength, agility, balance, and sense of adventure.  You may enter as an individual or as a team, but each person must raise a minimum $300 to participate.  Check the website for more details.

Geekenders runs events by geeks, for geeks.  The main event is a monthly club night which features a burlesque and variety show, costume and trivia contests, and geeky dancing.
