How long have you been a Vancouverite? Born and Raised (35 Years)

Occupation:
I am the Senior Chef for the Cactus Restaurant Group, currently overseeing our newest and largest location at the Jack Poole Plaza in Coal Harbour.

Best place to shop for foodie related items in Vancouver:
We’re really luck in Vancouver to have a dynamic food scene with great vendors. Some of my favourites include Granville Island for fresh vegetables and fruit, seafood and bread; Save on Meats for steaks, ribs and in-house-made sausages; and Bosa Foods for any cheese, pasta and unique Italian ingredients.

Most inspiring Vancouverite:
I find inspiration from Jimmy Pattison for all of his contributions and hard work that have helped shape the city of Vancouver and placed it on the map as a global business city: everything from his leadership role as the CEO of the Expo ‘86 organization to his involvement with the 2010 Winter Olympics. The Pattison organization and the many companies that he directs truly capture what Vancouver and the West Coast can offer the world on the economic platform.

Best example of iconic Vancouver history:
The Vancouver Aquarium – I remember visiting the aquarium as a child and being amazed by all the animals, fish and whales in such a beautiful setting. Those trips to the iconic and historical aquarium helped shaped my love for sea animals, including sharks. Years later, I truly appreciate how amazing the aquarium is situated in the downtown area of one of the world’s most beautiful cities.
