Looking for something to do with the kids on Family Day? Richmond’s annual festival of creativity and imagination is back on Monday, February 10th. The Children’s Arts Festival offers kids the chance to explore their artistry and let their imagination run wild. With Creativity Classes, Imagination Stations, Special Events, and live performances, there’s sure to be something for everyone.
Admission into the festival is $5 for kids and $2 per adult. Once inside, check out the Imagination Stations, live performances, Family Skate, and Family Swim. Imagination Stations include face painting, balloon twisting, and stations for making wizard hats, maps, flying fish, mosaic stones, wands, and crowns. If that’s not enough, sign up for a Creativity Class or Special Event. Creativity Classes include puppet making, circus skills, cartooning and musical theatre, while Special Events feature “the Wiz,” award-winning author and illustrator Lee Edward Födi, and Wonderland Circus from Circus West. Creativity Classes (full list below) require registration ahead of time and are $10 each (some exceptions). Early sign-up is also encouraged for Special Events, which cost $7. Admission into the festival is included in the Creativity Classes and Special Event fees.
You can register for Creativity Classes and Special Events here – just visit the Children’s Arts Festival website first to find your course number. Classes vary in availability for children ages 3 – 12.
