For three nights in the summer, the sky of Vancouver is lit up with a fantastic, jaw-dropping spectacle of light and fire when the annual Celebration of Light fireworks appear in English Bay starting on July 26.
There’s nothing quite like the Celebration of Light in Vancouver, with the community getting together to enjoy live music, food carts galore, and an epic light show taking over the sky.
This year, the fireworks celebration is looking to be better than ever with three countries competing to put on the best spectacle for the crowds that gather in eager anticipation.
For 2014, the fireworks will be taking place over three nights with three competing countries. Unfortunately, Canada is not in the celebration, but there’s always next year! For Summer 2014, the Celebration of Light schedule is as follows:
- Saturday, July 26, 2014 – USA
- Wednesday, July 30, 2014 – France
- Saturday, August 2, 2014 – Japan
As an added bonus, Shorefest will also be coming back this year, with free concerts hosted at Sunset Beach and English Bay. So far Canadian favourites, The Sheepdogs, have been confirmed and the rest of the lineup is yet to be announced–you know it’s going to be good!
