Bird Week is a week-long series of events to celebrate Vancouver’s birds. Bird Week is inspired by World Migratory Bird Day, a United Nations-sponsored initiative that recognizes the importance of birds as key indicators of our environment’s health.

Six popular Vancouver birds compete for your vote to be honoured as this year’s City Bird.  Vancouver’s first officially elected City Bird will be announced on the closing day of Bird Week on May 10.  Check out each candidate here (I’m cheering on the Black-Capped Chickadee!).

There will be lots of free bird-related workshops, walks, talks, exhibitions, and lectures across Vancouver; scroll down for more!
