The last summer street festival of the year (*tear*) will be happening this Sunday, September 14, 2014 on Main Street from noon to 6pm during the fifth annual Autumn Shift Festival.

This family-friendly event will be celebrating the changing of the seasons (even though summer technically doesn’t end until the 22nd!) with vendors, food, talented musicians, and a variety of performances across 3 stages.

For all the foodies out there, Sunday will also host the fourth annual Smoking Sausage BBQ Competition Cook-Off. Local restaurants, pubs, and food-based businesses will be given a chance to showcase their grilling skills while raising funds for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. A minimum $5 donation will get you a sample of each delicious creation and your vote will help crown the BBQ Cook-Off Champion for 2014.

The BBQ will take place from 2 – 5pm and will be located on the south side of 8th Avenue east between Main Street and Quebec Street.

You can also expect other cool surprises throughout the festival, including free pony rides (!!), a collection of installation and art by local artists, and a flash mob organized by ImproVancouver (you can participate too!)

From noon until 6 pm the community will come together to celebrate the change in seasons and the diversity and spirit that makes Mount Pleasant “Vancouver’s Coolest Neighbourhood”.

Make sure to drop the Autumn Shift Festival on Sunday, September 14th for some free popcorn, cotton candy and entertainment to bring an end to another spectacular Vancouver summer!
