Did you know that Vancouver is one of the most dog-friendly cities in North America? It is, and we’re proud of it! No matter where you go in this city, you’re bound to bump into at least one pooch out for a stroll with its owner.

Travelling to our city with your four-legged fur-friend is never an issue as we have plenty of top-notch hotels that welcome canine companions with open arms. And when those pups need to let off some steam, Vancouver has numerous dog-friendly parks, trails, and off-leash areas for fun and frolicking.

For those dogs that enjoy being spoiled — whether it be with a special snackie, a nifty outfit, or some pampering — we have many pet stores and spas in Vancouver. Here are four that we recommend you check out.

Barking Babies

Located in hip Yaletown, owner Nancy Jelenic and crew have been offering unique dog fashions and accessories from all over the world since 2004 — we’ve never seen so many doggy collars!

In addition to being the downtown go-to for hound couture, Barking Babies also offer grooming, anesthesia-free teeth cleaning, daycare, and puppy training.

For food-motivated Fidos, grab a bag of B.C.-made Auntie Kim’s Better Bickies. With mouth-watering flavours like cheddar cheese omelette, roast turkey dinner, and even, cheeseburger and fries,  you may even want to tuck into them!

If your dog is more of a sporty pooch, may we suggest picking up a B.C. Lions or Vancouver Canucks dog jersey? They also make great souvenirs.
