It’s summer in the city and there are plenty of exciting events happening for foodies this month. Vancouver loves a pop-up bar or restaurant and we’ve got some great suggestions that are guaranteed to get your tastebuds tingling –and give you some excellent Instagram-worthy boast-post moments.
Chef Jefferson Alvarez Presents… The Illusion of Coffee
This is a one night only event on Friday August 14 that’s a collaboration between Vancouver coffee gurus Revolver and chef Jefferson Alvarez, one of the city’s most innovative and creative chefs who explains: “The night is an ‘Illusion of coffee’, meaning I will prepare dishes using coffee in many ways: as a spice, for smoking, to play with the senses. The night begins with Veuve Clicquot champagne and sustainable Northern divine Caviar.. and the rest is an experience. The whole point is to show that coffee is not only to have every morning but can also be use for cooking, curing and smoking. Buy tickets here now.Lucky’s Doughnuts
A pop-up with a purpose, Lucky’s doughnuts have partnered with A Loving Spoonful to create a special Sprinkled with Pride vanilla-filled Long John doughnut which will be available for one day only at the Pride Parade starting at 9 am on Sunday August 2 at the Denman St. BMO Branch (958 Denman St.) and all-day in store at both Lucky’s Doughnuts locations (2198 W. 4th in Kits and 2902 Main St. in Mount Pleasant).
