Foodies in the city can set sail on the city’s coolest new floating pop-up restaurant, the Sunset Bay, a luxury yacht spread over three floors, which has Darren Brown, former Executive Chef at Oru, at the Fairmont Pacific Rim taking the helm for this special event. The Sunset Bay’s inaugural foodie voyage is on Friday October 2nd, when it launches from the Westin Bayshore Marina for a fall harvest winery dinner with Clos du Soleil and a host of other gourmet food and drink partners. The voyage begins with a welcome craft cocktail party paired with Postmark Brewings finest Vancouver beers and local charcuterie tasting plates. Vancouver’s award winning Long Table Distillery’s head honcho, Charles Tremewen will host an artisanal gin and kombucha-gin bar with Pedro Villalón of O5 Tea, featuring cucumber gin, and serving up his Texada vodka at the oyster ice bar featuring Steven Pocock of Sawmill Bay Oysters.
The gourmet nibbles will also include a special dish from Alex Tung, Corporate Chef of La Grotta Del Formaggio showcasing their proprietary stracciatella and a sneak peek at the soon to be released Domenica Fiore Veritas olive oil –a true chef’s favourite and a global award-winning product.
The main event of this dining and socialising at sea festival, will be a four-course dinner from Chef Darren Brown, celebrating the flavours of fall, alongside Simalkameen Riverside Organics and the phenomenal wines of Spencer Massie’s Clos du Solieil. The evening rounds off with dessert from the genius of Adam Chandler of Beta 5 Chocolates and a special limited ‘Marc’ wine collaboration between Long Table Distillery and Clos du Soleil.
