Vancouver musicians and comedians are gearing up for the holiday season with a host of fundraising shows. Probably one of the most interesting is a salute to Prince, but there’s plenty more to check out and enjoy, including Beatroute Magazine’s showcase of some of the city’s finest bands.

Beatroute Magazine’s 2015 Xmas Party Fundraiser (Dec. 16 at the ANZA Club, 3 W. 8th Ave.) – Local bands Pink Mountaintops, War Baby, Brass, Summering, Slow Learners, a DJ set from Humans, and secret guests make this a party for the indie-music fan (and readers of Beatroute, natch). Plus, comedian Kathleen McGee hosts, and a silent auction features items from Bodega on Main, Bestie, Tacofino Vancouver, Odd Society Spirits, Rufus’ Guitar Shop, Rufus Drum Shop, and more. Proceeds will go to the Atira Women’s Resource Society. $15 ($12 w/ non-perishable food item) at the door, 8 p.m. start time.

Graham Clark Presents… The Graham Clark Hates Christmas Show (Dec. 18 at Hot Art Wet City, 2206 Main St.) – Comedian Graham Clark and his comedian friends make fun of Christmas movies at this small, funky Main Street art gallery.

Comedian Graham Clark and friends roast Christmas movies at Hot Art Wet City Dec. 19.
