“The past. The present. The future. Experience the unfolding of time…”

Watch the history of the universe unfold before your eyes as you embark on a journey through the life cycle of the universe – from the Big Bang, to present day, to what the future may hold for our planet and its spatial surroundings.

Written and directed by acclaimed American filmmaker Terrence Malick (Badlands, The Thin Red Line, The Tree of Life), and narrated by the mesmerizing voice of Brad Pitt, this documentary film breaks new ground by exploring the intricate details of the cosmos in a condensed and concise way.

Here’s what you can expect from this newly-released, can’t-miss documentary film.

A condensed version of the full-length feature film of the same name (narrated by Cate Blanchett), this made-for-IMAX version is the perfect length for fidgety kids who aren’t able to commit to a longer screen viewing.

Almost 14 billion years of history is unveiled in this 44-minute work of art, an enormous feat for Terrence Malick. Brad Pitt’s soothing voice chimes in poetically as the screen comes to life with up-close and colourful imagery of the solar system and beyond. The camera then zooms in towards the Earth’s surface, creating the sensation of gliding only inches above bubbling lava and rushing waterfalls, and diving into the atoms and particles that make up the living things on our planet.

The film then gradually introduces the evolution of living things, as they emerge from the water and take form through sea creatures, dinosaurs, and eventually humans.

Not your average educational science film, this production is as pleasing to the eye as it is to the mind, as it explores our universe, “from the birth of stars, to modern cities glowing in the night.”

Lean back in a cozy reclining chair and enjoy Voyage 0f Time: The IMAX Experience under the dome at Science World – the perfect way to spend a rainy day with kids in Vancouver.
