It won’t take much to convince your kids to go to PlayDome at BC Place. This indoor carnival with rides, games, attractions, and sweet treats is a child’s dream come true. However, it might take a bit more convincing to get the adult chaperones to get as excited about taking a spin on the Tornado or experiencing the weightlessness on the Alien Abduction ride.

But, after checking out the carnival for myself, PlayDome really does satisfy the inner child in all of us. An ode to summers at Playland, this carnival is a small taste of what you can find at Vancouver’s well known amusement park. But, PlayDome satisfies the craving for spinning rides and cotton candy – without having to worry about the rain.

PlayDome is Western Canada’s largest indoor carnival that has set up shop at BC Place for Spring Break. Open until Sunday, March 26th, it’s got 45 rides and attractions, plus all the mini donuts you could shake a stick at, the typical carnival games with lots of chances to win stuffed poo emoji toys, and lots more surprises.

I must warn you, the rides at PlayDome are not for the weak-stomached. Through age comes wisdom, and kids don’t yet seem to understand the correlation between spinning in circles while upside down and needing to throw up in a garbage can. Bless their tiny little hearts and their ironclad stomachs.

PlayDome is really the most fun place a kid can be during Spring Break in Vancouver. They have packed a surprising amount of rides into BC Place that will keep you entertained for hours. Kids of all ages and sizes can find their new favourite ride or attraction and can burn a ton of energy running from the Wacky Worm to the Ring of Fire and back again.

Entry into PlayDome costs $29 for a full day and includes all the rides you can manage. Or, if you plan on returning for multiple days, you can buy a $49 Ultimate pass for the entire length of the carnival. For those who feel nauseaus just by looking at a spinning ride, $8 will get you entry as a spectator.

When you’re done with the rides, there are lots of options to try and win gigantic stuffed toys. Our favourite was the Mr. Pickle stuffy, but you may be more partial to the giant stuffed Pikachu.

PlayDome is wonderland for kids looking to go for a wild ride under the big top (of BC Place). It’s a great way to pass the time, especially on a rainy day. The carnival is only on for a few more days, so make sure you don’t miss it!
