Vancouver Christmas Market Boasts over 75 Vendors for this Year’s Festivities

The Vancouver Christmas Market transforms Jack Poole Plaza into a holiday wonderland.

There are just 40 days left until Christmas! If you’re already feeling the holiday spirit and can’t wait to start decorating your tree, you’ll be excited to know that the Vancouver Christmas Market is setting up shop again from November 22 to December 24, 2017.

Based on the centuries-old tradition of Christkindlmarkts in Germany, the Vancouver Christmas Market brings a European-inspired Christmas village to Jack Poole Plaza for the holiday season. For 2017, the festive, family-favourite is back with one of its largest celebrations to date, boasting more than 75 huts full of sweets, treats, and treasures to enjoy – all with a glass of Glühwein (mulled wine) in hand!

Starting on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, you can wander the market’s winding alleys and discover authentic German delicacies including sausages, pork shank, waffles, German beer, and many more options. There are also many shops to explore, whether you’re looking for a new Christmas tree ornament or some new sweet-smelling handmade soap.

It’s not just about the shopping, you can also take a spin on the one and only Christmas Carousel in Downtown Vancouver. Or, experience a 30-foot tall walk-in Christmas tree, decked out with 36,000 twinkling lights. Don’t forget to visit the North Pole photo hut for some great photos to share on social media!

New this year, the Vancouver Christmas Market will also be hosting a Trivia Night on November 28 at 7pm to test your Christmas wits with a fun and fast-paced evening of holiday trivia. Think you can name all seven of Santa’s reindeer? Hosted by The Vancouver Quizmasters, teams of up to six are invited to enjoy frothy German beer and delicious mulled wine, as they play and compete for festive prizes.
