The 12 Productions of Christmas, Day 1: Elf

Catch a horse-drawn carriage down Pacific Boulevard at CandyTown.

It’s day one of The 12 Productions of Christmas! Today’s spotlight is Elf.

The production  Elf, Will Ferrell’s magical mishap comedy, centres around Buddy, a fully grown human raised in the North Pole who realizes he doesn’t quite fit in with the other elves and sets out for New York to find his biological father. Most non-Big Apple scenes were filmed in sound stages across Vancouver, and select interior sets were constructed in Coquitlam’s Riverview Hospital, including Gimbels’ toy department.

The attraction  Make like Buddy and dive headfirst into the Christmas spirit at Candytown (November 25), Yaletown’s magical street festival that transforms the stylish district into a Yuletide fantasy. Roll along Pacific Boulevard in a horse-drawn carriage, browse locally made goods at the artisan craft market, and pay a visit to Santa and the Ice Queen.

Admission to CandyTown is free, though donations will be accepted on-site for BC Children’s Hospital, Starlight Children’s Foundation and Rotary Club.

Check in Monday morning for our first 12 Productions of Christmas prize giveaway!
