EDM sensation Dillon Francis headlines a free concert tomorrow (Friday) April 20 at Harbour Event Centre (760 Pacific Blvd). Others on the bill include Dzeko and Daijo.

The concert kicks off the Illumination concert series, a nation-wide series of free shows that will bring 20 artists to Canadian cities this summer.

Find out more about Friday’s show below, including some fun facts about Francis.

Francis is a Los Angeles-born-and-raised DJ and producer. His hits include the #1 Billboard Dance Club chart-topper “Coming Over”; the RIAA platinum-certified “Get Low”; and the 2018 hit “We The Funk”.

Here are some fun facts, gleaned from Francis’ Wiki page:

• Francis has stated that his father, Robert Drew Francis, is an “alternative medicines doctor”
• he has said that he was very sheltered growing up; that he did not know any swear words until he was 15; and that he could not watch TV unless he watched at least two hours of Sesame Street a day
• he first rose to fame after gaining the attention of American producer Diplo and eventually collaborating on the song “Que Que”, with featured Latin-pop artist Maluca
• his specialty EDM genre is moombahton, a fusion of house music and reggaeton
• Francis is also one half of the comedy production duo Meowski666 alongside Kill the Noise, and in 2016 announced to Australian radio that he was working on a comedy sketch show pilot for MTV

Guest DJ Dzeko is a Canadian producer, and protégé of popular Dutch DJ Tiësto. Producer, performer and Vancouver native Daijo will also DJ.

Aurora Cannabis is the presenter of the concert, as well as the Illumination Concert Series. Canadian residents can register for the Illumination Concert Series here.
