This weekend people around the world will be celebrating Earth Day, an annual event held on April 22nd of each year, with the purpose of demonstrating support for environmental protection. Since its inception in 1970, Earth Day has become a globally-recognized occasion, with 192 countries around the world participating in spreading the message of environmental and climate literacy through various events.

Vancouver will be hosting events in and around the city in honour of Earth Day, including parades, parties and festivals for all to enjoy.
