I was recently invited to spend an evening at Bottleneck, the speakeasy-inspired bar and restaurant that was once a storage space for the Commodore. Tucked directly underneath the legendary venue, the inconspicuous spot recently changed up its menu to feature more inspired dishes that are perfect for a pre-show meal or post-show night cap.

Bottleneck Bar and Restaurant Now Open in Commodore Ballroom

Commodore Ballroom, which opened doors December 1929, earned its cred as Vancouver’s “it” venue by hosting greats like Duke Ellington, Tom Waits, Nirvana, Beastie Boys and Kiss. This summer, the legendary art deco concert hall is going for foodie fame too. Bottleneck, Commodore’s new bar/restaurant, is now open in the concert venue’s former storage area at 870 Granville.

Bottleneck chef Hugh Carbery handles the Bottleneck menu along with food requests from Commodore’s celeb performers.
