Catch Chinatown Stories at Vancouver Public Library Jan. 11

Come out to the Central Library January 11, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, to hear groundbreaking histories of forgotten Chinatowns, and stories about growing up Chinese Canadian in Vancouver and the surrounding suburbs.

The authors of The Gold Mountain Stories, a series published by UBC and the Chinese Canadian Historical Society of British Columbia (CCHSBC), will be on hand to read aloud from their work. Expect entertainment and education by master storytellers.

Larry Wong, author of Dim Sum Stories: A Chinatown Childhood will share his experiences growing up in Vancouver’s Chinatown. Independent scholar Chad Reimer will chat about investigating arson in Chilliwack’s Chinatowns. Chinatown Stories is a timely opportunity to learn more about Van’s Chinatown before Chinese New Year January 23. Find out more about the authors after the jump. Continue reading:
