If you’ve ever watched Project Runway then you know that team challenges rarely go well. And if you haven’t tuned into an episode (what do you do with yourself on Thursday nights!?) let me break it down for you: team challenges rarely go well.

But this isn’t Project Runway, this is Battle of the Brush, a live painting competition, returning to Vancouver on September 25, where multiple teams of artists compete in a time-limited competition before their spontaneous collective works are displayed and judged by local art connoisseurs. And these teams actually work really well together.

Extreme Painting: Live Art Battle in Yaletown, July 3

Painting isn’t usually thought of as an extreme sport.  But throw a bunch of painters into one room, add a stopwatch and a cheering audience and you get Art Battle: a competitive live painting event happening Tuesday, July 3, at 7 p.m. at Raw Canvas in Yaletown.
