Taking place in Vancouver’s scenic Coal Harbour neighbourhood, BOLDfest is an annual conference heading into its 15th year. Held at the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel, located at 1180 W. Hastings St, this meetup introduces (or reunites) lesbians from Canada and the US.

Learn from the World’s Best Public Speakers at Toastmasters International in Vancouver

Chances are, if you’ve ever shied away from public speaking or sought advice on how to improve your public speaking skills, someone advised you to try Toastmasters International. Founded more than 90 years ago, the organization has achieved global recognition by its mandate of empowering individuals to face down their fears, gain confidence and, ultimately, become the most effective communicators and leaders they can be. This August, Vancouverites and visitors to the city will have the opportunity to witness for themselves the transformational power of Toastmasters when the organization convenes at the Vancouver Convention Centre for its 86th annual convention.

Public Health Forum in Vancouver: 5 Reasons You Should Care About Your Pelvic Floor

Oh sure, you could make lots of tongue-in-cheek jokes about how exciting pelvic floor disorders are, but if you or someone you care for has one, you know it’s no laughing matter. One in three women will deal with a pelvic floor disorder such as incontinence, painful sex or vaginal prolapse over the course of her life. From June 20 – 24, Vancouver will welcome the 42nd Annual Meeting of the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA), bringing to the city more than 1,500 attendees who specialize in the fields of pelvic pain and female pelvic floor disorders.
