The spectacular energy of the Honda Celebration of Light returns for its 27th year on the shores of English Bay, with a thrilling line-up for this year’s festival, featuring Japan, the United Kingdom and home team Canada. The three teams are set to take to the skies on Sat. July 29th, Wed. August 2nd and Sat. August 5th, respectively, in the world’s longest running offshore fireworks competition.

Vancouver’s Great Duo – Paddling & English Bay

What comes to mind when you think of great duos? Simon and Garfunkel, peanut butter and jelly, fish and chips or perhaps Beauty and the Beast? Personally, one of my favourite duos is the combination of English Bay and paddling. It doesn’t matter what you’re paddling; dragon boat, kayak, canoe, rowboat or stand up paddle board. The thrill of viewing Vancouver’s skyline, Stanley Park, and the spectacular North Shore Mountains from the ocean by a self-propelled watercraft is undeniable.

They say patience is a virtue, and if you are an avid fan of spring flowers and blossom viewing, this year’s unusually long, cold, snowy winter has certainly tested your patience. But, dare I say the wait is over!  Snowdrops are dropping, daffodils are dazzling, and the promise of new growth and regeneration is in the air.  Congratulations – we made it! Our beloved cherry blossoms and spring flowers are returning with a delightful vengeance.
