Spring has sprung and so have the delicious fruits and veggies that are filling up the local farmers markets! Now that the winter farmers markets have closed for the season, the larger spring/summer markets will be opening throughout May and June!

You can check the eatlocal.org website to find out what’s in season, but there’s a good chance you’ll be able to find apples, chard, dandelion greens, kale, nettles, potatoes, mushrooms, grass-fed beef & lamb, craft beer, and a whole lot more.

On Saturdays, Nat Bailey Stadium is transformed into a food-lovers paradise when 70+ farmers and merchants flock to the stadium for BC’s largest winter farmers market. Featuring winter veggies, eggs, cheeses, breads, and craft alcohol, it’s a great place to shop for your weekly groceries. If you miss Saturday’s affair, you can also check out the Sunday market at Hastings Park. Located near the PNE Fairgrounds, this market features over 20 vendors hawking their delicious seasonal goods.

It’s Summer Farmers Market Season in Vancouver!

If you love local food and buying farm-fresh produce, meat, and cheese, you know where to go this weekend. This Saturday kicks off the first of the summer farmers markets that Vancouverites have come to know and love. The opening of these farmers markets is a sure sign that the sunny, summer season is upon us!

This month, there are three farmers markets opening up for the season across town, with three more opening in June. With so many farmers markets in Vancouver, it’s pretty easy to get access to fresh veggies and fruits almost every day of the week!
