Easter Seals BC is inviting thrill-seekers across the Lower Mainland to take part in the 11th annual Drop Zone event in Vancouver on September 13th – an always exciting, adrenaline-inducing fundraiser.

This year, participants will be rappelling down a 20-storey downtown Vancouver office building all to raise funds and awareness for the BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities – a non-profit that aims to enrich the lives of children in BC and the Yukon by providing life-changing programs and services, like specialized, accessible camps for children with physical and/or cognitive disabilities.

No, you haven’t just had a gloriously vivid dream, Bunny Yoga is a thing and it’s happening as a fundraiser for the Vancouver Rabbit Rescue on February 7th at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre. We spoke with Nina Hobbis who’s helping co-ordinate this fun event to find out more.

How did Bunny Yoga come to be?

Alas, it’s not my creation, the Small Animal Rescue Society of B.C. held a Bunny Yoga fundraiser in October and I thought that was just the most brilliant idea in the world. The Vancouver Rabbit Rescue also held a Bunny Yoga session and I just thought, “I have to go to this!” Animal groups are always having to fundraise and this is such a wonderful way to do it and the shelter animals get to be there too.  Continue reading:

The Arts Club Theatre Company’s popular California Wine Fair is back this month, with the largest tasting of its kind in Vancouver.

The April 21 to 27 wine fair is an annual fundraiser for the local theatre company, which stages productions like Fairwell, My Lovely. Proceeds support emerging artists and help with the creation of new works.

The fair is an opportunity to sample some of the best wines from the Golden State at two different events: a pair of winemakers dinners and a blowout ballroom tasting.

The first California Wine Dinner, which takes place on April 21, sold out in a flash–but a second dinner has been added. It takes place on April 22 at Siena Restaurant, which is a hop-skip from the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage, in Vancouver’s South Granville neighbourhood.
