A full 17-day schedule of events that provide festivalgoers with unique culinary experiences. The Dine Out™ Vancouver Festival features hundreds of restaurants each offering multi-course dinners at $20, $30 or $40 (not including tax, gratuity and beverages). This is an opportunity to choose from almost 300 of the city’s restaurants, from fine dining to family-friendly and everything in between. The list of participating restaurants and menus will be made available to Aeroplan members on Jan. 8, 2018, and Jan. 11 to the general public. This November, Vancouver’s iconic Orpheum celebrates 90 years of entertainment. To honour the anniversary, citizens are invited to attend a 1920s themed, Orpheum 90, party presented by Vancouver Civic Theatres (VCT) in partnership with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO).

Vancouver Civic Theatres Now Offering Self-Guided Tours of the Historic Orpheum

This summer Vancouver Civic Theatres (VCT) is offering self-guided tours of the Orpheum, one of the most beautiful concert halls in North America.

The Orpheum, a designated National Heritage Site, was built in 1927. The theatre hosts international musicians, concerts, and unique events, and is home to the beloved Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

Acclaimed Vancouver string quartet premieres new works this Sunday

A Vancouver string quartet is premiering a new program that is intended to take listeners on a sonic journey.

Presented by Borealis String Quartet, Landscapes: A Northern Odyssey features a world-premiere composition, String Quartet No. 5, written especially for the Quartet by Vancouver composer, Owen Underhill. The BSQ will perform the piece alongside two contrasting works, one from Latvian-Canadian composer Imant Raminsh, the other by Chinese-Canadian composer Xiao-Ou Hu, both Vancouver premieres. This hot classical action takes place beginning at 3 p.m. this Sunday, March 12 at the Orpheum Annex (823 Seymour St.).

Learn the basics of architectural photography with instructor Doug Williams. This course will teach you techniques for window light portraits, using flash, methods of creating abstracts, and long exposures outdoors. Review your work in the class and practice with the instructor’s one-on-one support. This course is low cost, so if you’ve got a keen interest in photography but are low on resources, this is the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
