One of the best ways to see Vancouver is from the seat of a bike. Vancouver is a very bike-friendly city with kilometers of dedicated cycling paths and lanes. As a long-time Vancouver resident and cyclist, here are some of my favourite local bike routes. You can ride beside the ocean, through the forest or explore one of Vancouver’s unique neighbourhoods.

While the quaint seaside village of Steveston has reached peak popularity thanks to fans of ABC’s Once Upon A Time – who visit the spot looking to scope out the real-life version of the town where the show’s story takes place, the village is loved by locals for the real-life magic that the whimsical town has to offer. While the heritage fishing village of Steveston features the perfect combination of modern, eclectic shops, diverse dining options, and historic sites, it is also an ideal destination for picnic lunches and frolicking in the sun while soaking up the surrounding scenery.
