National Pizza Day takes place on February 9 but let’s be honest: many of us have a hankering for pizza daily, especially given the number of establishments in Vancouver that have taken this city’s pizza game up a serious notch.

Take the home pizza kit from Rocky Mountain Flatbread as an example. There was a time when making pizza at home basically consisted of heating up a mass-produced frozen product. Now, thanks to Rocky Mountain Flatbread, that beautifully charred crust and the fresh, high quality ingredients that you associate with restaurant pizza can happen at home.

And there are many other places all around the city offering pizza that you can try in the lead up to – and after National Pizza Day!

Vegetarian and Vegan Dishes to Enjoy in 2018

With the New Year, many of us resolve to shift the way we eat. I, for example, am endeavouring to incorporate more plant-based cooking into my daily routine. Fortunately, unlike other resolutions, this one will be fairly easy to keep!

Vancouver has many exclusively vegetarian/vegan restaurants, such as The Acorn (3995 Main Street) and The Naam (2724 West 4th Avenue). In addition, numerous restaurants in the city are also working to shift their menus to include vegetarian and vegan options for diners. I recently tried dishes at two establishments that are well worth recommending for delicious plant-based eating in 2018.

Kids In Vancouver: 5 Family-Friendly ‘Dine Out’ Destinations

As a family of five, dining out usually means an early dinner at one of our local go-to kid-friendly dinner spots. We rarely stray from our standbys, because we never know if a new restaurant will have a suitable setting and the necessary supplies to host under-12 guests.

Each year, when the Dine Out Vancouver Festival list of participating restaurants is released, I browse longingly through the lineup, wishing I could enjoy some of the delectable dishes that are featured. I had always assumed that the festival was focused on an adults-only audience – until this year, when I recognized some familiar family-friendly food destinations. Here are 5 places where families can comfortably enjoy the ‘Dine Out’ experience with kids in tow.
