Opening tomorrow: a Lego fan’s dream, Towers of Tomorrow

More than half a million little plastic bricks and over 2,400 hours. That’s how long it took Ryan McNaught and his team to construct the 20 skyscraper replicas going on display at Science World (1455 Quebec St.) beginning tomorrow, Jan. 24. During the show, on until Sept. 7, visitors can create their own buildings from over 200,000 loose LEGO® bits and pieces.

So which skyscrapers will you see? And what scale are they built on?

This Saturday, October 5, 2019, Science World at the TELUS World of Science will be hosting a FREE DAY for all!

Visit the famous dome in False Creek from 10 am to 6 pm to check out their newest exhibit, Cats & Dogs. Your free entry will also include entry into the rest of the building, so you can get knee-deep in science demonstrations, challenge your knowledge, and learn everything there is to know about our furry friends!

Science World Celebrates 30 Years on May 6

Science World’s iconic geodesic dome opened its doors on May 6, 1989, dazzling visitors with dozens of hands-on exhibits and the largest OMNIMAX screen in the world. Now, 30 years later, Science World is celebrating its birthday with several public events, including an ambitious attempt by staff to complete 30 science experiments in five minutes (!).

Drinking… in the name of science! On Thursday, February 7, 2019, the Telus World of Science is hosting their epic, annual fundraising event, Science of Cocktails! This is something you are not going to want to miss.

Attendees can explore the physics, chemistry and biology behind cocktails. Yes – there’s more to that Vodka Tonic than you ever thought… Plus, tickets to the event helps to provide class field trips to Science World for underserved schools in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.

Discover the secrets behind Toy Story, The Incredibles and more in The Science of Pixar

Ever wonder what kind of technology goes into making movies like Up, Monsters Inc., and Toy Story?

Beginning on May 19 and running until Jan. 6, 2019, Science World will present The Science Behind Pixar. The exhibition features more than 40 interactive elements, and is broken into eight sections, including modeling, animation, and rendering. All told, the exhibit will take up 12,000 square feet.
