Happy Lunar New Year! According to Chinese astrology, anyone born after this Saturday this year (or in 1957) is a fire rooster, which sounds pretty cool. Though fire anything sounds cool. Watch nearly every venue in the city to get festively other-worldly, occult, and costumed to lead us joyfully into the depths of late autumn and winter. There are lighthearted daytime dress-ups for the kids, late night haunts for the adults, haunted houses, haunted shows, haunted everything!

Happy Equinox! This Autumn weekend you can cozy up with a new book you find at the writers festival, get hypnotized by some steampunks, listen to a symphony play Legend of Zelda tunes, take the family to a square dance, learn about birding, go see a show or spend the day at a county fair.
