The Vancouver Whitecaps return for their second season in Major League Soccer March 10 – just two short weeks away. Although the team got off to a rough start in 2011, they’ve had a busy off season, boosting the team roster with an injection of fresh talent. The ‘Caps will debut against Canadian rival Montreal Impact at the spanking new BC Place Stadium.
The ‘Caps take on Impact in a preseason match today in Orlando at 5pm PST. It promises to be an edge-of-your-seat match. Both the ‘Caps and Impact tied versus their respective teams during MLS preseason action February 10. Meanwhile Impact scored a 3-0 victory over reigning champion LA Galaxy, then lost 0-1 to Chivas USA February 14, followed by a draw with the NCAA’s UCLA Bruins, and a 3-1 win over USL’s Ventura County Fusion February 17. The Whitecaps went on to defeat the UVic Vikes 2-1 February 19.
