Vancouver is known as a rainy city. But all that rain feeds our rivers and streams. And those rivers and streams sometimes come crashing downhill as spectacular waterfalls. Here are ten of the best waterfalls to visit near Vancouver. A few of them require a short hike, but most are within five minutes of the parking lot.

Top 5 Waterfalls to Visit in and around Vancouver

There’s something about hiking to a waterfall that’s extremely rewarding. They make for great photographs, they provide a spectacular backdrop for a picnic, and they sometimes even provide an opportunity for a refreshing cool-down shower.

In Vancouver and the surrounding areas, there always seems to be a waterfall at the end of most trails. Whether it’s large and intimidating or picturesque and silky smooth, waterfalls are always a great ending to a hike in Vancouver.

There are over 15 waterfall hikes in the Vancouver and Lower Mainland area, so to make your choice a little easier of which one to visit (although you should try and see them all!), I’ve got a list of the top 5 waterfalls that are worth the walk. Check it out below:

Vancouver is known for its stunning sea-to-sky adventure scene – from zig-zagging down the ski slopes of the local mountains, to trekking up the tree-lined mountain trails, to kayaking and paddle boarding along the city’s coastline – the city has something to offer for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages.

While my family is fortunate to have been born and raised in the picturesque city of Vancouver, there are a number of local adventures that we have yet to try.
