The Drift – Art on Main St. This Weekend

This weekend, October 1 – 3, 2010, is The Drift: Art on Main, a FREE annual art walk and open studio tour along Vancouver’s trendy Main St. that features over 85 local artists.

The Drift kicks off Friday, October 1, with a salon-style group art show at the new Creekside Community Centre in the Olympic Village (accessible via Canada Line). Then, on Saturday and Sunday, you can “drift” in and out of shops, galleries and studios along Main Street from Industrial Ave. to 33rd, meeting local artists and seeing art in all media, including paintings, pottery, glass, fashion, and even furniture.

Along with the art shopping, The Drift also offers a range of weekend activities: art competitions, live music, kids activities, sewing and spinning demonstrations, and more.

The Drift: Art on Main runs October 1 – 3, 2010. Download a Drift Map of participating shops and galleries here.
