After-Hours Bargain Shopping at Park Royal Mall

Is it too early to start thinking about holiday shopping?  Of course it’s not . . . .

A great way to kick off your shopping and support a good cause is the Starry Nights event at Park Royal Shopping Centre in West Vancouver.  On Monday, Nov. 29, and Tuesday, Nov. 30, the mall, which has more than 280 shops and restaurants, will be staying open after hours from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. for two nights of bargain shopping.

To get inside, you’ll need to buy a $10 ticket in advance at the mall’s guest services desk.  This will get you access to some significant discounts.  Dana usually writes about shopping, but these deals were so substantial that they even caught my eye:  20 percent off at Guess; 25 percent off at Calvin Klein Underwear; 20 percent off at H&M; 50 percent off at Sirens; and dozens of other bargains (For a complete list, click here).

The other unique element of Starry Nights is the festive atmosphere.  Liberty Wine Merchants and Les Amis Du Fromage set up a complimentary wine and cheese lounge.   And for shoppers with a sweet tooth, there are special treats from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Purdy’s and Cupcakes.

Plus, each evening a special prize for the fashion-challenged will be awarded in a drawing:   a three-hour one-on-one shopping session with celebrity stylist and fashion columnist for the Vancouver Sun, Faranak DaCosta, as well as a $500 shopping spree at Park Royal to offset the cost of your new wardrobe.

Maybe the best part of Starry Nights is that the event is for a good cause.  All of the proceeds from ticket sales go to support charities and community groups on Vancouver’s North Shore.  Think of it as karma-conscious shopping.

Anyone planning to go to Starry Nights?  Any great discounts I missed?  Please share comments below.
