Media Art – W2 Lights NYE

Hosted by W2 Community Media Arts Society, this is has become one of the most talked about events for New Years this year. W2 Storyeum will have 5 rooms filled with music, video, interactive media art installations, and performances. Dubstep Drum and Bass / Glitch-Hop / Downtempo / Midtempo / Reggae / Dancehall / Funk. Tickets are $40 online.

Indie Music – One Night Stand 3

Come rock out with some of the best indie music acts in Vancouver at the Media Club; featuring a night of covers performed by Adaline, Elias, Hannah Georgas, Mother Mother, Said the Whale, Dominique Fricot and Rococode. Tickets are $25 online or $30 at the door.

Theatre – It’s a Wonderful Life

Enjoy a night of out of local theatre and be reminded of the meaning of life! The Arts Club Theatre presents, It’s a Wonderful Life at the Granville Island stage. Tickets are $29, $39, and $49.

On A Boat – Vancouver Gala New Years Eve Boat Cruise

Fine dining, dancing and a view of the fireworks out on the water. It’s a night for young professionals, hosted by GenX events. Tickets are $148.

Unique Diner and Dance – Frozen in Time

The Marriot Hotel downtown will host diner and dancing on an ice-rink-style dance floor with ice sculptures and an indoor snowfall. Tickets are $84 for dancing, $140 for diner and dancing.

Single? – Vancouver’s Largest Singles New Years Party.

Meet over 200 singles, DJs & Dancing, prizes to be won and champagne at midnight. Tickets are $39.99

Salsa – The Empire Affair NYE

Maybe you’d like to start the New Year off trying something new? Salsa Vibes will host a night of salsa dancing; 4 rooms, live performers and featuring the salsa band, “Tanga” at the Empire Landmark Hotel. A dance lesson is provided at the beginning of the night.

Burlesque – New Years Eve Burlesque Extravaganza

Spend an evening full of Burlesque at The Cultch, one of Vancouver’s amazing community arts venues just off of Commercial Drive. Dancing, live jazz, thirties themed props and a “dirty thirties” photo booth. Tickets are $35

Formal Gala – Massive Gala 2011

A classy affair right next to the water, the Vancouver Convention Centre will host a formal gala; 5-star buffet, music from “Dirty Radio” and hip hop, top 40, house from DJ Wax, Dj Downlowe, Dj Roger Maltik and Mychal Ferriera. Tickets for general admission is $130.
