Nominate a Place in Vancouver That Matters To You

To celebrate Vancouver’s 125th anniversary, the Vancouver Heritage Foundation is asking for the public’s help to identify and mark 125 sites commemorating people, places and events that have shaped our city.  This project, called “Places That Matter”, will focus on marking places, people and events that have not already been recognized by other plaque programs.

From now until March 15, you can nominate your favourite sites on the Vancouver Heritage Foundation website.

The Places That Matter Site Selection Committee is made up of a diverse group of local historians, artists, students, heritage consultants, writers and educators. Taking into consideration the votes from the public, they will select the final 125 plaque sites to be marked. Voting will take place from March 16 to April 6.

Do you have any great ideas for sites to nominate?
