How long have you been a Vancouverite? Since 2005

I have been working in the online media realm for the last 11 years and have been blogging since 2004 on Miss604.com. In 2008, I co-founded sixty4media.com with my husband, where we specialize in custom WordPress website development. Although Miss604.com takes up quite a bit of my time, I love my day job building websites for clients along with offering tutorials and workshops.

Favourite place in the city:
Stanley Park—more specifically, Tatlow Walk, Bridle Path, and North Creek Trail.

Best way to spend a Saturday in the city:
I love bundling up in Gore-Tex and grabbing a coffee from a local roaster on our way to Stanley Park for a photowalk or to explore more of our favourite trails.

Favourite Vancouver event:
My favourite Vancouver event is Northern Voice, which is a personal blogging conference that has been around for almost 10 years. It celebrates people who are writing and sharing online because they are passionate about a topic, not because they want to make a profit. The speakers are always inspiring and innovative, and the attendees create, share, and teach. The next one is coming up on May 13-14, 2011.

Top insider tip for visitors:
Vancouver is much more than the downtown peninsula. Take some time to explore Main Street, Commercial Drive, and West Fourth in Kitsilano. There are so many boutiques and eateries that no matter how culturally diverse they may be, they are all uniquely local to Vancouver in one way or another. If you get a day pass for the transit system, you can get around the entire city car and worry-free.
