Bake for the Quake: “helping Japan’s earthquake victims one bite at a time.”

It has been just over a month since the magnitude 9.0 earthquake hit Japan and triggered a devastating tsunami. Here in Vancouver, as well as other cities all over the world, people have been banding together to raise funds to help those in need during this heartbreaking time. By attending Wednesday’s Bake for the Quake you can help the people of Japan by sinking your teeth into some tasty homemade treats.

Bake for the Quake takes place on Wednesday, April 20 at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Hosted by Melody Fury of Gourmet Fury and Vancouver Food Tour, and Joy Jose of Gourmeted, you can expect a delicious array of treats baked by some of the Lower Mainland’s most talented cooks and bakers who have donated their time, talent and sales dollars for this event. All money raised will go to Doctors Without Borders and you can view Bake for the Quake’s process so far here.

You also have the opportunity to win some great prizes include jewelry, spa and fitness packages, cookbooks and beauty packages just to name a few.

Please bring cash only and of course, your reusable shopping bags! For more information about how to get involved, donate or to just attend the event on Wednesday, please visit the Bake for the Quake website.
